About
Francis William Bourdillon was born in Runcorn, England. He was a British poet and translator. He was educated at Worcester College, Oxford. He is known mostly for his poetry, and in particular for the single short poem "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes". He wrote several books include: Among the Flowers, Lesser Lights, and Alone with God. He translated Aucassin et Nicolette as Aucassin and Nicolet. In 1896 he published Nephelé, a romantic novel.
