Emm Gryner was born in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. She is a Canadian singer-songwriter. She graduated from Fanshawe College's Music Industry Arts program in 1995. She won the Canadian Music Publisher’s Songwriting scholarship, the Mix 99.9 Songwriting Contest and has been nominated 3 times for a Juno Award. She was called a “Toronto indie goddess” by IndieVoice magazine in 2001. She recorded an album called The Original Leap Year and released it on her own Dead Daisy Records. In 2006, she released The Summer of High Hopes produced by Nathan Larson. Her albums include Public, Dead Relatives, Girl Versions, Songs of Love and Death, The Summer of Hope, and Goddess.
