We saw what happened in Jimmy Carter’s administration. President Carter was a good man with the best of intentions. But he came to Washington without a good working relationship with Democratic members of Congress, which played a big part in his administration’s problems.
This is not a time for America to ‘believe in magic.’ This is a time to drive education forward. This is a time to drive the economy forward. This is a time to drive America forward. We must do it together. And we must re-elect Barack Obama as President of the United States.

James Baxter Hunt Jr. was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA. He is an American Democratic politician. He served as the 69th and 71st Governor of North Carolina from 1977-1985 and 1993-2001. He is the longest-serving governor in the state's history. He earned a BS degree in Agriculture and an MS degree in Agricultural Economics both from North Carolina State University. He earned his JD degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1964. He is the author of book, entitled First in America: An Education Governor Challenges North Carolina. He married to Carolyn. They have four children.
