Edward Lodewijk "Eddie" Van Halen was born in Nijmegen, Netherlands. He is a Dutch-born American guitarist, lyricist, and record producer. He is best known as the lead guitarist, occasional keyboardist and co-founder of the hard rock band Van Halen.
