John C. Stennis Quotes

John Cornelius Stennis was born in Kemper County, Mississippi, USA. He was an American Democratic politician and lawyer. He served as the United States Senator from Mississippi from 1947-1989. He served in the Senate for over 41 years, becoming its most senior member for his last eight years. He earned a BA degree from Mississippi State University in 1923. He earned a Law degree from the University of Virginia Law School in 1928. He served as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1928-1932. He was a prosecutor from 1932 to 1937 and a circuit judge from 1937 to 1947, both for Mississippi's Sixteenth Judicial District. He served as a professor at Mississippi State University from 1989-1995. He is the author of book, entitled The role of Congress in foreign policy. Naming honors: John C.
