Jef Mallett was born in Lansing, Michigan, USA. He is an American artist and writer. He is the creator and artist of the nationally syndicated comic strip Frazz. His first comic series was entitled "Birchbark", featuring a French-Canadian trapper. After becoming a graphic artist, he worked in that capacity for regional newspapers, the Grand Rapids Press and the Flint Journal. He has written and illustrated the children's book Dangerous Dan. He has also served as an illustrator for other authors, including best-seller Mitch Albom. He has written several books include: Dangerous Dan, Frazz, 99% Perspiration, and Trizophrenia.
