You wanna do a lot of backstory for your character – as an actor, you wanna research that. But on the show, it’s fun to remain in that naive place as you go along, and be able to continue to discover things about your character as the writers come up with them.

Alison Brie Schermerhorn was born in Hollywood, California. Alison Brie, is an American actress. She is known for portraying Annie Edison on the NBC sitcom Community and Trudy Campbell on the AMC drama Mad Men. She has also starred in films such as Scream 4, The Five-Year Engagement, and The Lego Movie. Brie began her career acting onstage at the Jewish Community Center in Southern California. She graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a bachelor's in theater in 2005. Prior to becoming a movie actress, Brie worked as a clown at birthday parties and performed in theater in California. For a time, she studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Scotland. One of Brie's first television roles was Nina, a novice hairdresser, on Hannah Montana. She went on to star in the web series My Alibi, and was chosen for the role of Trudy Campbell in Mad Men.
