Joseph Clifford Montana Jr., nicknamed "Joe Cool" and "The Comeback Kid" was born in New Eagle, Pennsylvania, USA. He is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League for 16 seasons, primarily with the San Francisco 49ers and then with the Kansas City Chiefs for the final two seasons of his NFL career. After winning a college national championship at Notre Dame, he started his NFL career in 1979 with San Francisco, where he played for the next 14 seasons. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
