Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger was born in Vienna, Austria. He was a Nobel Prize-winning Austrian physicist who developed a number of fundamental results in the field of quantum theory, which formed the basis of wave mechanics: he formulated the wave equation and revealed the identity of his development of the formalism and matrix mechanics. He proposed an original interpretation of the physical meaning of the wave function. He earned a BS in Physics from the University of Vienna in 1910. He earned a PhD in Experimental Physics from the University of Vienna in 1914. He wrote several books include: Science and the Human Temperament, What Is Life?, My View of the World, and Space-time structure.
