She has written several books include: Psychoanalysis: The Impossible Profession, In the Freud Archives, The Journalist and the Murderer, The purloined clinic, The Silent Woman, The Crime of Sheila McGough, and Two Lives: Gertrude and Alice. She was educated at the University of Michigan and lives in New York City.
