Jeremiah Day was born in New Preston, Connecticut, USA. He was an American academic, a Congregational minister and President of Yale College from 1817–1846. He graduated from Yale College in 1795. He wrote several books include: An Introduction to Algebra, The Mathematical Principles of Navigation and Surveying, Autonomy, and At the First Clear Sight.
