Ethel Barrymore was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She was an American actress. She appeared in her first motion picture, The Nightingale in 1914. She appeared in the Academy Award nominated film Pinky, for which she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her role in several films include: None but the Lonely Heart, Rasputin and the Empress, The Story of Three Loves, Kind Lady, The Spiral Staircase, Portrait of Jennie, and Johnny Trouble.
