Helen Gurley Brown was born in Green Forest, Arkansas, USA. She was an American author, editor and businesswoman. She was the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine for 32 years. She graduated from Woodbury Business College in 1941. She worked for Foote, Cone & Belding advertising agency as a secretary. She wrote several books include: Sex and the Single Girl, Sex and the office, Sex and the New Single Girl, Cosmopolitan's Love Book, Having It All, The Late Show, The writer's rules, and I'm wild again.
