John Thomas Sladek was born in Waverly, Iowa, USA. He was an American science fiction novelist. He wrote several science fiction novels include: The Reproductive System, Black Alice (with Thomas M. Disch), The Müller-Fokker Effect, Roderick, and Tik-Tok (Won- British Science Fiction Association Award 1983).
