Jessica Phyllis Lange was born in Cloquet, Minnesota, USA. She is an American actress, producer, photographer and philanthropist. In 1967, she received a scholarship to study art and photography at the University of Minnesota. Her role in several films include: King Kong, Tootsie (Won- Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress), Frances (Nominated- Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role), Country (Nominated- Academy Award for Best Actress, also co-producer), Sweet Dreams (Nominated- Academy Award for Best Actress), Music Box (Nominated- Academy Award for Best Actress), Blue Sky (Won- Academy Award for Best Actress), A Thousand Acres, Titus, Broken Flowers, Bonneville, The Vow, In Secret, The Gambler, and Wild Oats. Her role in television include: O Pioneers! (TV movie), A Streetcar Named Desire (TV movie), Normal (TV movie), Sybil (TV movie), Grey Gardens (TV movie), American Horror Story (anthology horror TV series), and Feud (TV series, also co-producer). She won other awards, including one Tony Award, three Emmy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, and one Screen Actors Guild Award. In addition to acting, she is a photographer with three published works. She has also been a foster parent and currently holds a Goodwill Ambassador position for UNICEF, specializing in HIV/AIDS in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Russia.
