James Redfield was born in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. He is an American author, novelist and screenwriter. He earned a BA degree in Sociology from Auburn University. He earned an MA degree in Counseling from Auburn University in 1974. He has written several books include: The Celestine Prophecy(novel), The Tenth Insight(novel), The Celestine Vision((nonfiction), The song of Celestine, The Secret of Shambhala(novel), God and the Evolving Universe(with Michael Murphy), Exploring the Zone(with Larry H. Miller), The Twelfth Insight, and Holding the Vision(with Carol Adrienne). He has written film, entitled The Celestine Prophecy. In October 1997, he was awarded the Medal of the Presidency of the Italian Senate at the XXIII Pio Manzu International Conference in Rimini, Italy.
