Henry Codman Potter was born in Schenectady, New York, USA. He was a bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States. He was the seventh Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. He was educated at the Philadelphia Academy of the Protestant Episcopal Church and Virginia Theological Seminary, where he graduated in 1857.
