Helen Hayes MacArthur was born in Washington, D.C., USA. She was an American actress. She eventually garnered the nickname "First Lady of American Theatre" and was one of 12 people who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony Award. Her role in several films include: The Sin of Madelon Claudet(won-Academy Award for Best Actress), A Farewell to Arms, The White Sister, What Every Woman Knows, Vanessa, My Son John, Anastasia, Airport(won-Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress), Herbie Rides Again, One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing, and Candleshoe. She received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, from then-President Ronald Reagan in 1986.
