Charles Fulton Oursler was born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He was an American journalist, playwright, editor, and writer. Writing as Anthony Abbot, he was a notable author of mysteries and detective fiction. He was Supervising Editor of the various magazines and newspapers published by Bernarr Macfadden from 1921-41. He became editor of Liberty after Macfadden acquired it in 1931. In 1944, he became a senior editor for Reader's Digest. He wrote several books include: The greatest story ever told, The greatest faith ever known, A Child's Story of Easter, and The Magician Detective. He wrote several plays include: Sandalwood, The Spider, Behold This Dreamer, All the King's Men, and The Walking Gentleman.
