Fannie Merritt Farmer was born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She was an American cooking expert and writer. She was the author of six books about food preparation. She was a determined woman who overcame her physical limitations to achieve success in her field. She published her best-known work, The Boston Cooking-School Cook Book, in 1896.
