Harvey Lawrence Pekar was born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He was an American cartoonist and underground comic book writer, best known for his autobiographical American Splendor comic series. He wrote several comic books include: American Splendor(with Robert Crumb), Our Cancer Year(with Joyce Brabner), Best of American splendor, Our movie year, The Quitter, Bizarro World, Ego & Hubris, Students for a Democratic Society, The beats, and Cleveland(with Joseph Remnant).
