James Joseph Croce was born in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. He was a folk and rock singer of the late 1960s and early 1970s. His songs "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and "Time in a Bottle" reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. He earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Villanova University in 1965.
