Felice Benuzzi was born in Vienna, Austria. He was an Austrian-born Italian diplomat, writer, swimmer, and mountaineer. He graduated in law from the University of Rome in 1934 and at the same time plays an intense sport, participating in numerous international swimming championships between 1933 and 1935. In 1943 is in the range 354 to Nanyuki, on the slopes of Kenya where he designs and creates his escape on Mount Kenya, managing to win in February, Punta Lenana. He wrote popular book No Picnic on Mount Kenya: A Daring Escape, A Perilous Climb. He entered the diplomatic service following a competition in 1948. In 1949 he was Vice Consul in Paris, France and in 1951 in Brisbane, Australia. In 1973 he was appointed Ambassador to Montevideo in Uruguay.
